WOMEN IN DOCS ANNOUNCE SOUTHERN AUSTRALIA TOUR DATES

September 20, 2014

WagonWheel-A3Australia’s indie sweethearts women in docs are hitting the road this October for a special run of shows throughout the southern states.

Celebrating the release of their latest single Wagon Wheel, the duo – Chanel Lucas and Roz Pappalardo – will be not only performing tracks from their album Carousel, released earlier this year, but also new previously unheard material.

Roz says they will be rolling out some new songs and possibly also some new instruments on this tour. “We’ve been travelling with the ukulele for a few months now, but we think the banjo is going to make an appearance,” she says. “We’re also very excited to be performing a number of new songs that we have recently written. New songs always bring a sense of the unexpected to a show and it really keeps us on our toes, so we look forward to that.”

The run of tour dates for the Queensland-based musicians are focused around Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. “We were lucky enough to be invited to be on the bill of a special intimate regional South Australian festival, the Fleurieu Folk Festival,” says Roz. “From there we were able to link together some nice shows.

We decided to focus this year on the southern states and we think ending our touring for the year in Adelaide is quite fitting… particularly as we’re fans of the wine…”
